The ball has finally started rolling! Help to keep the momentum going against gender ideology by participating in one or more of these actions.
Meetings
Parent-organised meetings to learn about what their children are being taught in Relationships and Sexuality education are now happening almost weekly across the country. Parents are often connecting with each other in the private facebook group Parents against Gender Education New Zealand.
Leaflets
In east Auckland, a group called Mama Bears Rising has produced this leaflet that will be dropped into letterboxes over the next few days. The leaflet links to this excellent article by Finnish Dr Riittakerttu Kaltiala who explains that “My country, and others, found there is no solid evidence supporting the medical transitioning of young people.” Mama Bears Rising encourages other parents or concerned citizens to print and distribute the leaflet in their own communities. Email info@mamabearsrising.co.nz for a print quality PDF.
A simple action you can take is to ask your school and local library to buy “My Body is Me” by Rachel Rooney or these other recommended books. https://www.facebook.com/unteachtheoverreach
Petitions
Following the ‘Voices for Children’ rally at Parliament on 31 October, Mana Wāhine Kōrero has launched a petition seeking an independent inquiry “into all gender identity services, including state, private and charitable services for children and adolescents, with a focus on public funding, children in care, mental health services, education, and outcomes for families.” So far, over 1200 people have signed.
Another petition from Trudy Taurua urges the Government to ensure that girls-only bathrooms are available in schools as safe spaces for girls.
Webinar Friday 10 November
Please note that tickets are now being sold through Ticket Tailor and there are discount tickets available on application. https://www.tickettailor.com/events
The ticketing agency had to be changed after extremists bullied Eventbrite into pulling the tickets from sale. This Free Speech Union media release about the censoring includes a legal opinion from Nicolette Levy KC, that verifies the legal right of professionals to publicly discuss best practice in their various fields.

Polls from a different planet
A new Talbot-Mills poll confirms that the majority of NZers do not agree with gender identity ideology, with 60% opposed to males in women’s sports and 50% opposed to males who identify as women using women’s bathrooms. Yet, during the election campaign, most politicians denied that gender identity was an issue, with Christopher Luxon scoffing that people who thought so were “on a different planet”. In her substack, A B’Old Woman, Katrina Biggs lists the five polls in the last year that have confirmed gender ideology is an issue for the majority and asks “which planet has Mr Luxon been on?”
Plausible deniability?
In this online Times article, a father expresses concern about the RSE content in NZ schools, and Isabel Evans, the Deputy Secretary of Education is asked for comment. Ms Evans also appears to be “on a different planet” when she responds that, “There are no topics within RSE that schools must cover under the current New Zealand Curriculum,” as the RSE guide certainly gives schools and parents the opposite impression.
Ms Evans is also quoted as saying, “There are no specific criteria requiring school boards of trustees to include at least one LGBTQI+ person.” This is technically correct because the Education and Training Amendment Act (2023) in Schedule 23(a) (iii) uses the word ‘should’, not the word ‘must’: “every board should reflect the genders, sexualities, and sexes of the student body and the community of the school or special institution,” However, it is understandable that many Boards would interpret that clause as a requirement.
Problems with this amendment were amply described in the Speak up for Women submission to the select committee in May.
There is no longer any escape from the insanity of gender identity ideology - it undermines free speech, destroys careers and tears families apart. It is time for the silent majority to take a stand. James Esse
The Declaration for Biological Reality
In a major campaign called the Declaration of Biological Reality, more than 80 pressure groups and public figures have come together in the UK to call for an end to the spread of gender ideology across society.
They say the NHS and private doctors must never prescribe drugs to stop young people going through puberty, and schools should never allow pupils to 'socially transition' by letting them change names, pronouns and uniforms.
The Declaration also seeks to strengthen women's rights by protecting single-sex spaces such as toilets and hospital wards, as well as banning transgender athletes from female sports.
And to defend freedom of speech, it says no one should be reprimanded for saying humans cannot change sex, while public bodies such as the NHS and police must stop displaying 'ideological symbols' such as the rainbow flag.
Sadly, the Declaration can only be signed by British residents.
This mass delusion, that biological sex is a matter of choice, poses a danger to young people on an unprecedented scale. In nursery schools, under-fives are made to listen to stories about transgender toddlers, read to them by men in sexualised drag costumes. - James Esse
Sense from Psychotherapists
Following recent case law, and the publication of the interim Cass Review report, the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) issued this statement on the law regarding gender-critical views and highlighted the fact that exploratory therapy must not be conflated with conversion therapy.
This stance complements the 2021 statement from the RANZ College of Psychiatrists that also recommended that “Assessment and treatment should be evidence-informed, fully explore the patient’s gender identity, the context in which this has arisen, other features of mental illness and a thorough assessment of personal and family history.”
California referendum
A citizens’ referendum in California to outlaw medicalised gender change for minors is being promoted by Protect Kids California. Erin Friday, a lifelong Democrat and Californian lawyer whose daughter used to believe she was a boy, co-founded the non-partisan group with Republican loyalist Jonathan Zachreson. “Imagine for one second what would happen if California stops this [gender ideology]?” she said. “That changes not just the United States—it’ll change the world.”
Bernard Lane gives an insight the background to the referendum in his substack Gender Clinic News.
Way to go New Zealanders! Admiration from the States.
